Most vehicles require a new cambelt or timing chain every 5 years. This is a critical component; a failure can result in a vehicle write-off so we recommend keeping up with the service intervals for this component. We offer competitive pricing on cambelt and timing chain replacement. It is common practice to replace the water pump at the same time and in most vehicles cambelts and water pumps come as a kit to keep costs down. If you think your cambelt or timing chain is due for replacement please contact us and we can look up the requirements for your vehicle and advise accordingly.

On the Ford Ecoboost platform, a wet belt failure can cause irreparable engine damage. As the belt ages, fragments of the belt break off and can block the oil filter. At Viking as part of your belt replacement we ensure the oil filter is free of debris – so your car or van runs smoothly until your next wet belt service.
The Ford Ecoboost platform moved to a chain driven system around 2018/2019, the service interval is longer but still needs to be checked to prevent engine failure. Please contact us for advice, we can let you know if your vehicle is belt or chain driven and recommend the appropriate service needed to keep you on the road. We can also check when your belt or chain is due to be replaced.
