Delphi suspension and steering components

Your customers may want to believe that noise was coming from the car next to them. Or they may just turn up the radio. But the tell-tale sound of a failing ball joint is a cry for help — and an OE quality replacement.


Delphi is advising technicians to help ensure a quality steering and suspension repair by replacing the entire ball joint component where the rubber boot is split, cracked, damaged or missing. In these instances, there is a high probability that damage to the ball joint may have occurred, indicating the joint is likely to fail even after the boot cover has been replaced. Replacing the entire ball joint component can help avoid potential premature failure, which can be safety-critical and costly. This can also help avoid potential warranty invalidations.



By replacing the boot only and not the complete ball joint unit, the rubber boot could potentially seal in the damaging substances the joint has been exposed to, resulting in accelerated rust and corrosive damage to the joint. In addition, the ball joint is designed to operate with a grease lubricant. A defective boot could lead to a loss of this essential lubrication, as it may be washed away with water, dry out or become coated with dirt and other debris.

Air Filters

MANN-FILTER air filters are the end of the road for all dirt particles. No matter whether it’s dust, pollen, sand, soot or even water droplets – thanks to the highest degree of dirt separation and high mechanical stability, MANN-FILTER air filters filter even the smallest particles out of the intake air. This enables an optimum composition of the fuel-air ratio and ensures that the engine performance is consistent.

In order to guarantee performance, air filters must be checked regularly, as a blocked filter will impede the air supply to the engine. The possible consequence of this is: the fuel may not be completely burned and may in part be discarded without being used. Here is another hallmark of MANN-FILTER air filters: the high dust holding capacity ensures reliability throughout the entire service interval.

Oil Filters

More and more performance, less and less consumption – in order to meet the high demands placed on modern engines, automobile manufacturers demand the absolute highest levels of performance from the engine components used. The oil circuit is of central importance here, as only clean engine oil can permanently ensure consistent engine performance. If the circulating oil is not permanently freed of impurities and combustion residues, protection from wear is no longer guaranteed. In the worst case, this may even damage the engine. 

Fuel Filters

Modern high performance injection systems place high demands on the quality and purity of fuel. MANN-FILTER fuel filters ensure that dirt particles and any water contained in the fuel do not damage the engine.

MANN-FILTER fuel filters are also adapted to the high demands of sensitive injection assemblies, as well as the specific properties of alternative fuels, for example biodiesel. By using extremely fine filter media, the fuel is reliably freed of undesirable dirt particles. Our filters protect injection systems against wear and corrosion and thus help maintain the smooth running of the entire engine. An effect which is also positively reflected in the maintenance costs.

Changing your car’s oil at regular intervals isn’t just a good idea — it’s a vital part of keeping your car’s engine running properly. The purpose of engine oil is to keep the internal parts of your car’s engine lubricated and cool. It keeps the moving parts from grinding against each other causing wear and damage.

Without frequent oil changes, dirt and sludge can build up in the engine, and old, dirty oil won’t lubricate the moving parts as well as new, fresh oil will. Dirty oil leads to serious damage, and if things get bad enough, there may be an engine replacement in your future.

Fuel filters

Fuel filter help to efficiently prepare gasoline and diesel fuels for the combustion process. For this purpose, they use high-separation filter media and feature an advanced functionality scope. The fuel pressure in gasoline filters can then be adjusted by a pressure regulator integrated in the fuel filter.
For diesel engines, the functional range of the MAHLE fuel filter modules can be significantly more complex. The fuel can be cooled or heated, for example, or the water content of the fuel can be separated.


Air Filters

Increasingly smaller package constraints require higher filtration performance, especially with respect to particle retention efficiency. This trend requires the use of high-performance filters, more complex flow guidance design, and new filter element concepts.
